Château de Chaintres - Cuvée des Oratoriens 2008
Notes: Vins & Terroirs Authentiques 17.5/20
This wine comes from the oldest vines (over 60 years old) planted at the bottom of the Clos des Oratoriens, on deep clay-limestone soil. It is aged in oak barrels for 14 months and opens with fruity aromas, blending with more robust notes. On the palate, the red fruit aromas express elegance and finesse.

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
The arrival of the talented Jean-Philippe Louis as winemaker has breathed new life into this sleeping beauty of the Saumur region, where the soil is clay-limestone and the sun shines generously. The 2018 vintages herald the estate’s resurgence, with a red cuvée from old vines offering rich, full-bodied fruit. The Clos-des-Oratoriens, a white wine, requires more time to develop. Stay tuned!
