Château de Chaintres - Cuvée des Oratoriens 2008
Notes : Vins & Terroirs Authentiques 17.5/20
This wine comes from the oldest vines (over 60 years old) planted at the bottom of the Clos des Oratoriens, on deep clay-limestone soil. Aged in oak barrels for 14 months, it opens with fruity aromas mingling with more virile tones. On the palate, the red fruit aromas are elegant and refined.

Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (2020 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
The arrival of the talented Jean-Philippe Louis as technical director has breathed new life into this sleepy Saumurois beauty, for here we find clay-limestone and benevolent sunshine. The 2018s herald the estate's resurrection, with a fleshy, fruity cuvée of old vines in the reds. The white Clos des Oratoriens requires more patience. Stay tuned!
