Château de Chaintres - Cuvée des Oratoriens 2008
Notes: Authentic Wines & Terroirs 17.5/20
This wine comes from the oldest vines (over 60 years old) planted at the bottom of the Clos des Oratoriens, on deep clay-limestone soil. It is aged in oak barrels for 14 months and opens with fruity aromas, mingled with more masculine tones. The palate, with its red fruit aromas, expresses elegance and finesse.

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
The arrival of the talented Jean-Philippe Louis as technical director has breathed new life into this sleeping beauty in the Saumur region, where the soil is clay-limestone and the sun shines generously. The 2018 vintage heralds the estate's resurrection, with a red cuvée from old vines offering rich, fruity flavors. The Clos-des-Oratoriens white wine requires more time to develop. Watch this space!
