Château de Chaintres

Château de Chaintres is a charming 17th-century manor house with a patina of age, surrounded by vines, trees and flowers, in the heart of the Saumur Champigny appellation. Since 1938, the Tigny family has been perpetuating the tradition of producing refined Saumur Champigny wines.

The Château de Chaintres vineyard covers some twenty hectares, including the famous Clos du Château, an exceptional size unique in the appellation (nearly 18 hectares). It was planted in 1675 by the Oratorian Fathers of Notre Dame des Ardilliers, who chose the site for its terroir and sunshine.

After being one of the first estates to be certified in Agriculture Raisonnée, Château de Chaintres turned to organic farming, and is now certified BIO with Ecocert.
