Le P'tit Domaine - Les Bonneveaux 2010

Le P'tit Domaine - Les Bonneveaux 2010

1*Étoile

Hachette

"Produced from half-century-old vines, this cuvée has been aged in wood like all the estate's wines, but its eighteen months in barrels has not overwhelmed the wine. The color is more reminiscent of cherry than blackcurrant. The nose offers plenty of red and black fruit, underscored by hints of vanilla and roasted notes. The palate is in harmony with the nose. Despite its pronounced tannic structure, this balanced, long-lasting wine leaves an impression of suppleness and ease. "We could easily see it in a wine bar," wrote one judge. About wine:

A small estate indeed: 2.48 hectares to date. Richard Desouche, winemaker at Château de Chaintres, wanted to have his own vineyard and in 2006 acquired plots that he now cultivates organically (conversion began in 2010). Made from half-century-old vines, this cuvée has been aged in wood like all the estate's wines, but its eighteen months in barrel have not overwhelmed the wine. The color is more cherry than blackcurrant.
