Saumur rosé
Saumur rosé is produced in 38 communes and has two main grape varieties: Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The soils of this appellation are mainly chalky Tuffeau limestone, characteristic of the Saumur region. Formerly known as Cabernet de Saumur, the appellation changed its name in 2016 to avoid confusion with the AOP "Cabernet d'Anjou," which is a sweet rosé wine.
