Saumur rosé

Saumur Rosé is produced across 38 communes and features two main grape varieties: Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The soils of this appellation are primarily chalky Tuffeau limestone, characteristic of the Saumur region. Formerly known as Cabernet de Saumur, the appellation changed its name in 2016 to avoid confusion with the “Cabernet d’Anjou” AOP, which is a sweet rosé.
