"Iconic vintage"

"Gentle notes of toasted grain define the nose of the 2018 Mate's Vineyard Chardonnay, framing aromas of ripe pineapple and white peach. There’s also a hint of bacon fat. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied; the wine is slightly creamy and silky, yet crisp and concentrated, tightening up on the finish to end with an explosion of citrus zest. Like most Mate’s vintages, it ideally needs a few years in the cellar to fully express itself. ” (Wine Advocate 2019 - Joe Czerwinski) Screw cap

About the wine:

Soft notes of toasted grain define the nose of the 2018 Mate's Vineyard Chardonnay, framing aromas of ripe pineapple and white peach. There’s also a hint of bacon fat. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied; the wine is slightly creamy and silky, yet crisp and concentrated, tightening up on the finish to end with an explosion of citrus zest. Like most Mate’s vintages, it’s best cellared for a few years to fully express itself.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 96/100

About the wine:

The standout Chardonnay here is exceptionally well-crafted and is incredibly rich and concentrated, with deep aromas of ripe peach and mango, as well as notes of toasted grapefruit. The palate is very rich and ripe, offering a supremely full-bodied texture with long, rich, and complex flavors of stone fruit. Drink now or celller. Screw cap.
