Quinta de la Rosa - Douro La Rosa Tinto 2021

Richly structured and full-bodied, this wine is well-balanced, with tannins that are already integrated with the black fruit flavors. With its acidity and mineral texture, this wine has the potential to age further. Best enjoyed starting in 2026.

Very dark color with a purplish rim; no signs of color change. An explosion of black fruit aromas—blackberry and damson—but without any obvious sweetness; in other words, it exhibits the dark, rugged, and savory character of the Douro. Chewy but not aggressive tannins that are still developing. If you open this wine now, you’ll need to drink it with a meal—though, in fact, it will likely always be a meal wine. The Touriga is evident not only in the color but also in a floral note. The tannins are compact and balanced, but they would benefit from another year in the bottle to fully develop. A long, finely textured finish with a fresh aftertaste accentuated by the tannins—or perhaps the other way around. 2025–2031

Aromas of paprika, sliced chili peppers, and cherries. It is spicy and full-bodied, with medium to full body, medium tannins, and a savory finish. Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Sãoão, and Tinta Roriz. Ready to drink now or suitable for aging.
