Touriga Nacional
generous

"The 2017 Touriga Nacional was aged for ten months in French oak barrels [...] More generous than the other single varietals tasted in this Noval cuvée, it also has the best structure while retaining the silky character of Petit Verdot. Fresh, pure, and discreet, this Touriga is a perfect table wine. However, it needs some time to show a better expression of fruit" (Wine Advocate 2019 - Mark Squires)

About wine:

The 2017 Touriga Nacional was aged for ten months in French oak barrels of various ages (only 35% new). It has an alcohol content of 14%. It was bottled about three weeks before tasting and will be released in 2020. More generous than the other single varietals I tasted from Noval, it also has the best structure while retaining the silky character of Petit Verdot. Fresh, pure, and discreet, this Touriga is a perfect table wine. However, it needs some time to show better fruit expression, which has not been the case so far. It is a little too austere. Admittedly, it is still very young. You can drink it now, as the tannins are not astringent, but it will not be at its best.

About wine:

This is a full-bodied red with ripe notes of black plum, mahogany, toasted bread, and spices. Dark chocolate and praline as well. Supple, integrated tannins and excellent depth. Very polished tannins. Drink now or hold.
