About the wine:
The 2017 Touriga Nacional was aged for ten months in French oak barrels of varying ages (only 35% new). It has an alcohol content of 14%. It was bottled about three weeks before tasting and will be released in 2020. More generous than the other single-varietal wines I tasted from Noval, it also offers the best structure while retaining the silky character of Petit Verdot. Fresh, pure, and understated, this Touriga is a perfect table wine. However, it needs some time to better express its fruit, which hasn’t happened yet. It’s a bit too austere. Admittedly, it is still very young. You can enjoy it right away, as the tannins are not astringent, but this is not yet its prime drinking window.

About the wine:
This is a full-bodied red with ripe notes of black plum, mahogany, toast, and spices. Dark chocolate and praline as well. Supple, well-integrated tannins and excellent depth. Very polished tannins. Ready to drink or worth cellaring.
