Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
The estate is run by Michel Bronzo, supported by Stéphane Bourret, technical director and fine taster. In just a few years, the estate has come very close to the historic leaders of the appellation. The consistency and intensity of its wines is the result of hard work, from the vineyard to the cellar, combined with a thorough understanding of the terroir. La Bastide Blanche is planted on red clay soils, where the Fontanéou cuvée is produced, and stony clay soils, where the Estagnol cuvée is produced. The wines have a calm, earthy character and are very well-rooted.

About the estate:
A benchmark estate, created in 1972 by Baptistin Bronzo and his son Michel from 10 hectares of vines. Expanded and completely restructured, the vineyard now covers 48 hectares, laid out in terraces at the foot of Le Castellet and cultivated using biodynamic methods. The Bronzo family has also leased the Château des Baumelles (10 hectares in Saint-Cyr) and Château du Castillon (8 hectares in Le Castellet).

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
This estate, purchased in 1973 by Louis and Michel Bronzo, produces serious wines in all three colors, combining power and finesse. The 47-hectare vineyard, mainly laid out in terraces, covers the geological diversity of the Bandol terroir. Stéphane Bourret, in charge of winemaking, produces muscular reds that are more earthy than maritime, as exemplified by the two great vintages: Fontanéou (4,000 bottles per year), born of red clay terroirs, facing east in La Cadière-d'Azur, is a blend of Mourvèdre and Grenache and is racy; Estagnol (5,000 bottles per year) comes from clay-limestone soils mixed with gravelly areas and offers a very ripe and opulent texture. Made mainly from Clairette and Ugni Blanc, the white wine is undoubtedly the most consistent and harmonious in the appellation. The old vintages available for sale allow you to enjoy the undeniable potential of the estate's wines.
