"Red with character"

Vannières Rouge 2020 presents a nose with aromas of black fruits, blackcurrants, and blueberries, enhanced by fragrances of pepper and spices. After opening, ripe olives and notes of dried apricot are added. The palate is complex and velvety, with silky tannins and a long, persistent finish. Leave it to age in the cellar for a few years before enjoying it with garlic lamb, for example!

Wine rated (2024 guide) 93/100

Rated estate (2020 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, those who are the pride of French vineyards)

About the estate:

The château is one of Provence's great estates. Éric Boisseaux, a pillar of the Bandol appellation, is ensuring the tradition is passed on and now works with his son Charles-Eric. For a long time, they produced only one great cuvée in three colors, but with the arrival of the younger generation, the range is evolving and a breath of fresh air is blowing through the cellar. The classic red Bandols have an undeniable capacity for aging, quickly taking on nuances of tobacco and leather, which are allowed to mellow quietly over time: they are among the finest expressions of the appellation's reds.

About the estate:

This family adventure began in 1956 with Colette Boisseaux, continued with her son Éric, and today with her grandson Charles-Éric. The estate has 34 hectares of vineyards, dominated by a 19th-century château, whose older wine cellar bears witness to winegrowing activity dating back to the 16th century.
