This red "Rose de Bellet" cuvée, in honor of Baron de Bellet's mother, is produced only in exceptional vintages. This was the case in 2001 and 2003. Fine and elegant, this wine is mainly made from two local grape varieties, Braquet and Folle Noire, 100% destemmed and aged for 18 months in barrel. A rare bottle in a dazzling 2007 vintage to discover!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (2020 guide) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

Situated on the hill of Séoules, in the hills above Nice at an altitude of almost 300 meters, the terraced vineyards benefit from the sea spray that tempers the summer heat. Having vinified 47 vintages and established the reputation of the Bellet appellation, Ghislain de Charnacé sold his 12-hectare vineyard in 2014 to the property management company La Française REM (which also owns other vineyards). Considerable resources were deployed to restructure the vineyard, under the leadership, since summer 2018, of Jean de Laître, a talented master winemaker also present in the Bordeaux region. An ultra-functional winery at the foot of the old chapel now enables us to vinify as closely as possible to the terroir. A new style is emerging, with a reorganization of the range into three levels (entry-level, vins de terroirs and cuvées d'exception agnès), promising a bright future for this historic estate. The latest vintages demonstrate this welcome change of direction.
