Château de Bellet
The Barons de Bellet founded the estate on the hills above Nice, and their title was granted in 1777 by the King of the Sardinian States. This Savoy family gave its name to the appellation, which celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2011: one of the oldest A.O.C.'s.

Situated between the Mediterranean and the Alps, Château de Bellet covers 10 hectares of organically farmed vines, with natural grass cover, organic fertilizers and rigorous tillage. Likewise, no herbicides or insecticides are used.

The Château de Bellet vineyard lies at an altitude of between 200 and 300 metres, and enjoys generous sunshine (2,700 hours a year). The breath of the sea and alpine winds provides the slow ripening process necessary for the freshness and elegance of Château de Bellet wines, giving them an almost northern character. The unique soil is pudding: Pliocene pebbles and very light sand with a few clay veins running through it.
