Château de Bellet
The Barons of Bellet founded the estate in the hills above Nice; their title was granted in 1777 by the King of Sardinia. This family, originally from Savoy, gave its name to the appellation, which celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2011: one of the oldest AOCs.

Nestled between the Mediterranean and the Alps, Château de Bellet spans 10 hectares of vineyards cultivated using organic farming methods: natural ground cover, organic fertilizers, and meticulous soil management. Similarly, treatments are carried out without any herbicides or insecticides.

The Château de Bellet vineyard is situated at an altitude of 200 to 300 meters and enjoys abundant sunshine (2,700 hours per year). The breeze from the sea and the Alps facilitates the slow ripening process necessary for the freshness and elegance of Château de Bellet’s wines, giving them an almost northern character. The unique soil consists of puddingstone: Pliocene pebbles and very light-colored sand interspersed with a few clay veins.
