Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2018 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Since 2006, this estate has belonged to Sacha Lichine, former owner of Château Prieuré-Lichine in Margaux. He has taken it back into his own hands to produce wines of great definition, with the help of Patrick Léon (formerly of Mouton-Rothschild). Their Garrus cuvée is probably the most expensive Provence rosé on the market.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2018 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the estate:
A famous match manufacturer in Marseille in the 1850s, Joseph Toussaint Caussemille was one of the many owners of Château d'Esclans and gave his name to this estate, which is dominated by a 19th-century building inspired by Tuscan villas and built on the ruins of a medieval castle. Sacha Lichine, son of the late Alexis Lichine, former owner of Château Prieuré-Lichine, took over this 267-hectare estate (including 44 hectares of vineyards) in 2006. It is renowned for its rosé wines aged in oak.
