Domaine des Féraud - Indigène Vieille Syrah 2015
91/100
A. Larsson
“Deep , dense purple with a clear rim. Spicy and meaty, with notes of black fruit on the nose, peppery, and a subtle hint of oak. The palate is dense with good structure; it’s still young but can be enjoyed now with its meaty, spicy, and red fruit flavors. ” (Andreas Larsson 2018) Serve slightly chilled to fully enjoy it!

About the estate:
In 2011, at the age of fifty, Markus Conrad, a German entrepreneur and wine enthusiast, fulfilled his dream by purchasing this historic estate—previously owned by the Fournier family—along with his family. Nestled in the ecological sanctuary of the Plaine des Maures, the vineyard now spans 25 hectares, planted on high-quality sandy-loam soil. The conversion of the entire vineyard to organic farming was completed in 2017.

Ripe fruit and a full-bodied texture despite a high alcohol content. Great aging potential

A wonderful discovery! A well-balanced and well-defined Syrah. The nose is subtle but opens up to reveal fresh spices, a hint of pepper, and a touch of cocoa. The palate has a lovely presence with an interesting mid-palate. One to watch closely for future vintages. Decant for at least an hour to fully appreciate the aromas.
