Mas de la Dame
Mas de la Dame is now run by Caroline Missoffe and Anne Poniatowski, the great-granddaughters of Auguste Faye, who bought it on a whim in 1903. Located on the southern slope of the Alpilles, at the foot of the legendary village of Les Baux de Provence, the Mas de la Dame estate covers 300 hectares, including 57 hectares of vineyards and 28 hectares of olive trees.
Mas de la Dame practices organic farming and undergoes annual inspections by Qualité France. The soil is worked mechanically, and weed killers and pesticides are prohibited. All cultivation practices also comply with the Mediterranean Nutrition Charter in Provence established by the Departmental Chamber of Agriculture. Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, and Carignan are used to make red and rosé wines, while Rolle, Clairette, and Sémillon are used for white wines. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the average yield at Mas de la Dame does not exceed 35 hectoliters per hectare.
