Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2023 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)
About the estate:
Nestled in a magnificent landscape on the southern slope of the Alpilles, this 300-hectare family-owned estate—comprising 52 hectares of vineyards and 28 hectares of olive groves—boasts well-drained soils that are ideal for viticulture. Now run by two sisters, Caroline Missoffe and Anne Poniatowski—the former being the current and highly dynamic president of the appellation—the estate’s wines stand out as some of the finest expressions of Baux-de-Provence. Rich and full-bodied, they combine depth with lightness in a very elegant manner.

Review and comment by Mr. GILLES D. Published on August 22, 2025
A simple, light summer rosé with marked liveliness and a certain roundness, featuring moderate aromas of crushed strawberries and raspberries. The finish is moderately fresh, marked by a hint of bitterness and herbaceous nuances. All in all, it lacks a bit of vibrancy and intensity. With this profile, it would be a good choice as an aperitif or with appetizers.
