“A unique vintage you simply must try!”
"The 2019 Oxymore is a collaboration between Thomas Farge and Stéphane Usseglio. It is a blend of 65% Syrah from old vines in the northern Rhône, 30% Grenache, and 5% Counoise. It features a deep purple-ruby hue, with notes of red and black fruits, game, ground pepper, and violet. This gem greets the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a fluid and elegant texture, and ultra-fine tannins. While Syrah dominates the nose, Grenache comes to the fore on the palate, and this is quite simply an elegant, well-integrated, and undeniably delicious wine in the making. Best enjoyed over the next 7–8 years.” (Jeb Dunnuck 2020)

About the wine:
The result of a collaborative project between Thomas Farge and Stéphane Usseglio, the 2019 Oxymore is a blend of 65% Syrah, 30% Grenache, and 5% Counoise. It’s an interesting concept, though a bit disjointed at the moment, with the northern character—violets, blueberries, and crushed stone—currently dominating the softer, richer nuances of the south. Overall, it’s medium-bodied, ripe, and approachable, with silky tannins on the finish. It’s worth keeping an eye on to see where it ends up.

About the wine:
A surprisingly deep nose of blackberry, damp earth, and smoke, evoking an image of autumn vineyards swept by the wind after a hot, dry summer. Full-bodied on the palate, with remarkable elegance and vitality for this red wine, which boasts a broad and highly concentrated bouquet. Plenty of tannins, but they are already well-integrated. A long, licorice-and-mineral-driven finish. A blend of 65% Syrah, 30% Grenache, and 5% Counoise.
