"Omnipresent in the Guide, the Jaume family once again distinguishes itself with this very convincing Cairanne. With its well-colored robe, its variegated nose blossoming with rosehip, stewed blackberry and fur, and its ample, warm, pleasantly tannic palate, lingering very long on morello cherry with kirsch, it profiles a refined, very Southern red, promised to age well." Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (2020 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
A key figure in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Tavel, Alain Jaume's family runs a top-quality wine merchant business, as well as owning fine vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes du Rhône. Their main source of pride is the grand-veneur wine, a classic Châteauneuf. Clos de Sixte, the family estate in Tavel, offers a fine image of the cru, while in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the cuvée de vieilles-vignes is one of the appellation's finest wines. The estate's destiny is being brilliantly assured by Alain Jaume's children.

About the wine:
Omnipresent in the Guide, the Jaume family once again distinguishes itself with this very convincing Cairanne. With its brightly-colored, variegated nose of rosehip, stewed blackberry and fur, and full, warm, pleasantly tannic palate that lingers on morello cherry and kirsch, this is a refined, Southern red that promises to keep for a long time.
About the domain :
Of Castelpapal origin, Alain Jaume and his sons, Sébastien and Christophe, perpetuate a winegrowing tradition that dates back to 1826. They manage a 155-hectare organic vineyard spread over 4 estates: Grand Veneur in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Clos de Sixte in Lirac, Ch. Mazane in Vacqueyras, and Dom. la Grangette Saint-Joseph in AOC Côtes-du-Rhône, all complemented by a trading activity. A sure bet.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 90/100
About the wine:
Cairanne Les Travées 2023 offers lovely aromas of red and black raspberry, spice, leather and violet, with wonderful purity. Medium-bodied and pleasantly textured on the palate, with ripe tannins and a concentrated finish, this blend of 65% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre will drink beautifully over the next 5-7 years.
