Alain Jaume - Master of the Hunt
Since 1826, the Jaume family has been dedicated to the great terroirs of the Rhône Valley, including the Lirac, Vacqueyras, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellations. In 1979, Odile and Alain Jaume carried on the family tradition by founding Domaine Grand Veneur. In its early days, the vineyard covered 9 hectares and has since expanded over time to reach 78 hectares of vines today in the region’s finest appellations in the south.

Today, Sébastien, Christophe, and Hélène ensure the estate’s continued success. Combining family expertise with their own oenological and viticultural knowledge, they highlight the quality ofDomaine Grand Veneur’sterroirs. The estatehas gained worldwiderecognition: “Few estates in the world are as well-managed as those of the Alain JAUME family...” J. Dunnuck.

In 2003, the Le Clos de Sixte vineyard was acquired in the neighboring Lirac appellation, which is one of the fifteen crus of this region and is located just a few kilometers across from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Its terroir is certainly one of the most beautiful in the Rhône, with plateaus very similar to those already owned by the estate. Millions of years ago, the river shaped the subsoil of the left and right banks by depositing sandy clay and the famous rounded pebbles.
