"The first nose reveals a distinct character, delicacy, and above all, a superior length of flavor. A cuvée endowed with strength and finesse. The fruit is perfectly preserved. A magnificent selection of pure old Grenache vines (80 years old) grown on sandy soil." (Le Guide des bonnes affaires du vin 2016 - Gerbelle & Maurange)

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2016 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Located on the terroirs near Orange, the 5 hectares of Châteauneuf-du-Pape include century-old vines, which explains the intensity of the 2012 vintage presented here. The Côtes-du-Rhône wines from the same estate are also remarkable, and the young couple of winemakers now in charge are doing an exemplary job. Before this wine becomes too well known, give it a chance to find its way into your cellar.

Disappointing wine, flat nose, alcoholic on the palate and lacking in length. Uninteresting, far from the standards of the appellation.

Disappointing wine, a bit dull and, above all, alcoholic.
