Le Jas des Papes
Jas des Papes was acquired in 2014 by Michel Audibert, the first member of the family to set up outside the Provence appellation. A great enthusiast of the wines of the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, Michel began the adventure with 6 hectares of vines, before expanding the estate in 2017 to around ten hectares spread over several parcels. The current configuration of the vineyard, marked by a beautiful diversity of plots, contributes to the uniqueness and richness of the Jas des Papes terroir.
Today,Jas des Papes has been run by winemaker JP Meuwesen since 2015, who hails from the great Stellenbosch wine region in South Africa. A great connoisseur of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape terroir, he is committed to maintaining biodiversity in the vineyards.
The vines are worked with the strictest respect for the environment. The decision to adopt an organic farming approach was taken as soon as the Jas des Papes was acquired by the Audibert family in 2014. As a result, the estate has been certified Organic Ecocert since 2017.
