"A lot of elegance surrounding a bouquet of ripe fruit"

“Distinctive with its aromas of ripe cherry and licorice, this red wine is more expansive on the palate, revealing enticing notes of stewed strawberries, vanilla, and crème brûlée. A full-bodied wine, with velvety tannins, well-balanced, and soon to reach its peak.” (Le Guide Hachette 2027)

Wine noted (guide 2027) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

Rated estate (2025 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the wine:

Distinctive with its aromas of ripe cherry and licorice, this red wine reveals a more expansive palate, with enticing notes of stewed strawberries, vanilla, and crème brûlée. A full-bodied wine, with velvety tannins, well-balanced, and soon to reach its peak.

About the estate:

Coming from a long line of Provençal winemakers, Michel Audibert acquired the Jas des Papes estate in Courthézon in 2014. Here, he cultivates about ten hectares of organic vineyards (certified in 2017) in the Saumades area, from which he produces three Châteauneuf wines—one white and two reds.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 91/100 (Excellent wine)

About the wine:

Slightly reductive at first, the 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape opens with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberries, and dark fruits. Medium- to full-bodied, it is round and charming, with a fleshy, almost creamy fruit-forward core that carries through to a long, fruit-driven finish. This is a fine achievement for this vintage.

About the wine:

Malty, full-bodied aromas; a robust, punchy wine. Plums infused with the umami of soy. A finish of black olives and rosemary. Powerful tannins, slightly “dusty” with notes of finely ground spices, yet not drying; they provide perfect structure to the wine and support its body very well.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 93/100

About the wine:

Made from 50% rounded pebbles and 50% sandy soil from the “Les Saumades” vineyard, the 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is composed of 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 5% Cinsault. It was aged 80% in concrete tanks and 20% in used oak barrels. It reveals aromas of ripe red and black fruits and black olives, along with peppery and full-bodied nuances, with a generous note of Provençal spices in the background. Medium- to full-bodied, it offers a round, complex, and pure palate, with fine tannins and exceptional length. This classic and satisfying wine will reach its full potential over the next 15 years and beyond; it is the finest example of this cuvée I have ever tasted.
