Domaine des Sénéchaux, located in the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyards, has belonged to the JM Cazes family since 2006. Domaine des Sénéchaux wines reflect the typicity of the terroir, both red and white, spread over 27 hectares. The estate dates back to the 14th century, and is one of the oldest vineyards in Castro Novo, the land of the Pope's wines.
The Domaine des Sénéchaux red wine plots are planted on three distinct soils: stony clay-limestone, deep sandy and gravelly mollassic and safre. The grape varieties are Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Vaccarèse-Cinsault for the reds, and Roussanne, Grenache blanc, Clairette and Bourboulenc for the whites. The white grape varieties face south and southwest on sandy-clay-limestone soil. Domaine des Sénéchaux produces full-bodied reds and fleshy, aromatic whites.
