The Old Keep
The Domaine du Vieux Donjon, owned by the Michel family for several generations, is located in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation.

The story begins in the early 20th century, when the family sold their grapes in bulk. In addition to this activity, the Michel family also made barrels. It was in the 1970s that viticulture took on a more important role, following the marriage of Lucien and Marie-José Michel. The Vieux Donjon vineyard then covered 13 hectares. Today, it covers 17 hectares, planted with Grenache Noir (70%), Mourvèdre (15%) and Syrah (15%) for the reds, and Roussanne (50%) and Clairette (50%) for the whites.

The family adventure continued in 2007 when their daughter Claire decided to join Le Vieux Donjon, followed by their son François in 2012. Their parents Lucien and Marie-José retired in 2013, confident that their family knowledge had been passed on.
