Bettane & Desseauve

"La Geynale 2013 is slightly more fragrant and wild than Granit 60, with sublime notes of black pepper, smoky earth, leather, meat, and lots of blackcurrant. Despite the cool vintage, it is rich and has a beautiful texture, ripe and structured by silky tannins. This is a very good wine from a winemaker at the top of his game." Wine rated (2016 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2016 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About wine:

Full-bodied, with the healthy roughness of a true local Cornas, very well vinified and aged.

About the estate:

Vincent Paris is a young winemaker who has invested in acquiring some beautiful plots, mainly in Cornas. His range is limited but gains in intensity year after year. At the top of the range are the Granit 60° cuvées, named after the slope on which they are harvested, and La Geynale, made from vines that are almost a century old. This winemaker's production is limited, but his wines can be found at good wine merchants, notably at Georges Lelektsoglou's irreplaceable Compagnie de l'Hermitage in Tain.
