Bernard Burgaud

Domaine Bernard Burgaud is located in the town of Ampuis, in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie wine region.

The vineyards of Domaine Bernard Burgaud cover 4 hectares, spread across the localities of Le Champin, Leyat, Les Moutonnes, Côte Blonde, Fonjeant, and La Brosse. On a terroir of steep terraces that preclude any mechanization, Bernard Burgaud practices viticulture that is essentially manual, working closely with the vines, which consist exclusively of the Syrah grape variety. Similarly, all winemaking and aging processes follow best practices, always traditional.

The wines of Domaine Bernard Burgaud are the result of the strong connection between the terroir, the grape variety, and the winemaker.

In 2019, Pierre joined his father Bernard on the estate, and the harvest was carried out by the two of them in an effort to pass on their values and expertise. Under Pierre’s leadership, the estate is working toward the High Environmental Value (HVE) certification
