“A Côte-Rôtie with a delicate, lingering texture”
“A fresh, juicy burst of blackberry and acai is perfectly balanced by firm tannins and gritty, mineral notes of graphite. It offers impressive depth and liveliness. The clean finish is adorned with smoky notes of alder. Precise and elegant. Best enjoyed between 2027 and 2038.” (Wine Spectator 2026)

About the estate:
We are delighted to see this estate in such fine form this year. François Villard has been a master of his craft—both with whites and reds—for several years now, producing wines deeply rooted in their terroir. It must be said that he boasts an impressive range that spans all the region’s major appellations. A proponent of perfectly ripe grapes and a master of the art of winemaking, he has crafted a series of 2023 vintages of the highest caliber. A third star is well within reach.

About the wine:
The 2023 Côte-Rôtie Le Gallet Blanc opens with delicate notes of violet, along with aromas of grape stems, orange peel, and red plum. Medium-bodied, with real depth and structured by ripe tannins, the 2023 vintage will benefit from being cellared for another two years in a cool cellar.
