"How delicate!"
The 2022 Côte-Rôtie Les Rochins was aged for 20 months in 228-liter French oak barrels, 30% of which were new. Intense licorice, black plum, clove, graphite, and a hint of espresso are at the forefront. Medium-bodied to full-bodied and round, the 2022 seduces the palate with an elegant concentration of flavors, ending with a burst of freshness on the fruity finish. Give it another two years in the bottle." (Vinous 2024) • Please note: limited quantities available.

Bettane & Desseauve
Winery rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, consistent with what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
This estate has some lovely vineyards in the Côte Blonde area, including one on Le Goutay, near their home, but their best wine comes from Les Rochains, on the schist soils near La Landonne. Production still lacks consistency, but the style is authentic, with the hallmark of whole bunch fermentation. The 2017 vintage showed great promise this year.

Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Wine rating (2025 guide) 93/100 (Outstanding wine)
About wine:
The Côte-Rôtie les Rochins 2022, fermented with 30% whole clusters, has a slightly introverted profile, revealing aromas of violet, flowers, and dark berries structured by spicy notes as it opens up. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, enveloping and charming while still young, it is beautifully balanced, with a refined and linear mid-palate that transforms into a long, ethereal and vibrant finish. Although not the most expressive Côte-Rôtie, this surprising and silky wine—aged for 20 months in barrels, 30% of which are new—displays impressive finesse.

Wine rated (2026 guide) 95/100
Rated estate (2024 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
The Garon wines showcase the diversity of the Côte-Rôtie terroirs. We are impressed by the style of the estate's wines, which are distinguished by their fine texture. The fruit is precise, and the aging process intensifies depending on the terroirs and their ability to manage the wood. Among the different vintages, La Sybarine evokes the expression of granitic soils; Les Triotes, located on the Côte Blonde, next to Lancement, comes from schist; Les Rochins is born on the brown schist of the Côte Brune.
