Bettane & Desseauve

“Still quite young, this Syrare deserves a little more time in the cellar. Rather austere at the moment, it will soften with time and reveal its full elegance. Refined and structured, it will really come into its own after being decanted.” (The Bettane & Desseauve Guide to French Wines 2018)

Wine rated (2018 guide) 15,5/20 (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2018 guide): 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)

About the wine:

Still quite young, this Syrare deserves a little more time in the cellar. Rather austere at the moment, it will soften with age and reveal its full elegance. Refined and structured, it will truly come into its own after being decanted.

About the estate:

David Alexandre and Alain Gallety form a lively and innovative father-son duo. The winery is the archetype of the southern red wine… of the future.
Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated estate (2018 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the estate:

Based in the Ardèche since 1974, the Gallety family produces the most renowned Côtes du Vivarais wines on the market. Alain and David-Alexandre manage the estate’s 15 hectares on their own, using organic farming methods. A gem located halfway between the northern and southern parts of the Rhône Valley.
