Domaine Alain Graillot - Saint-Joseph 2012

Maxime and Antoine Graillot now run the family estate. Alain Graillot, who passed away in 2022, pioneered the wine estate movement in the Châssis region as early as the mid-1980s. His “La-Guiraude” cuvée—which has always been a selection of the cellar’s finest barrels—is a benchmark for the appellation, with definite aging potential. Generations come and go, but the style endures.

The great Alain Graillot sadly passed away in 2022. This talented and visionary winemaker leaves his two sons, Antoine and Maxime, an estate that stands at the pinnacle of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, having demonstrated for years now the potential of the appellation’s finest terroirs. Located in the heart of the alluvial plain of pure pebbles and gravel in La Roche-de-Glun, the estate produces Syrahs that are more refined and structured than most in the region. The strength of these wines lies in the immediate pleasure they provide, even though they are capable of aging with increasing complexity over ten years… or even much longer.
