Thanks to a blend of four Mediterranean grape varieties, dominated by Grenache Noir, this Collioure offers deep, intense aromas of raspberry, pepper, blackberry, and licorice, giving way to notes of thyme and bay leaf. The palate is straightforward, with jammy black fruit mingling with notes of spices, pepper, violet, clove, and sweet licorice. Its length, round tannins, and lovely density will pair wonderfully with tagines, stews, and bouillabaisse.

About the estate:
Located in the heart of Collioure, on one of the town’s narrowest streets, this winery has been run since 2006 by Laetitia Piétri-Clara, who took over from her mother, Maguy. With the support of oenologist Hélène Grau, the winemaker carries on the tradition established in the late 19th century by her great-grandfather Étienne Géraud, a doctor who returned to the family vineyards. The vineyard covers 20 hectares, primarily in the Banyuls and Collioure appellations.

Excellent value for money for a charming wine that isn't without a certain complexity

The Roussillon region is home to many Gems which is this dazzling Sine Nomine. A beautiful attack that is as fresh as it is rich. This is followed by a complexity of jammy black fruits, interwoven with notes of spice, earth, and leather, coating a rounded palate with great depth, dominated by its structure. Endowed with surprising savory depth, the graceful texture benefits from tannins that are as powerful as they are refined. A hint of saltiness adds even more personality and depth to the intense, voluptuous finish, especially as it is enriched by a beautifully effective toasty note. Potential. However, we’re already enjoying this devilishly charming Collioure with duck strips, black mushrooms, and bamboo shoots, served with fragrant rice. Score = 4.3.
