Domaine Thunevin-Calvet - Côtes du Roussillon Cuvée Constance rouge 2021
3*Étoile
Hachette
“As imperial as his council!”
"With a beautiful deep, intense red color, this superb village wine reveals an equally robust nose of black fruits and brandy-soaked cherries, blended with hints of licorice and smoke. A clean, crisp attack gives way to a perfectly balanced palate, centered on the fruit, highly concentrated, and with admirable length. A wine of the highest caliber, to drink now or age, which will pair royally with a Tournedos Rossini.” (Guide Hachette 2025)

Aromas of ripe fruit and Provençal herbs. Full-bodied on the palate. 14.5% ABV. Enjoy in moderation.

Review by Mr. Gilles D. Posted on July 9, 2025
Medium-bodied, this terroir-driven wine is fresh, full-bodied, rich, and velvety on the palate. Firm, pronounced tannins envelop a generous blend of fruit and spices, with a hint of dark chocolate and a touch of graphite, lending the wine a supple and deliciously creamy texture. The finish is long and deep, with salty and earthy notes. Offered at a fantastic price, this lovely, uncompromising wine pairs well with hearty dishes, such as a marinated suckling pig on a spit for a family celebration on July 14. Rating = 4.
