Jonquères d'Oriola - Côtes du Roussillon Château de Corneilla Héritage 2023

A dark color with ruby highlights; an intense nose blending forest floor notes, blond tobacco, and scents of the Mediterranean garrigue (bay leaf, thyme)—welcome to Roussillon. On the palate, black fruits (blackberry, blueberry) are complemented by a peppery freshness, infusing a powerful yet well-integrated body, balanced by lovely structure and a long, licorice-tinged finish. It certainly has great aging potential.

Precise, elegant, and well-structured, the 2023 Côtes du Roussillon Château de Corneilla Héritage offers a pleasant character thanks to its skillful blend of 60% Syrah, 20% Grenache Noir, and 20% Carignan. Ripe fruit, black cherry, wild aromatic herbs, and peppery spices are highlighted by tight, silky tannins, plenty of freshness, and—despite its density—great finesse. A harmonious wine with a refreshing hint of bitterness and a gastronomic character, it is already delicious today but can easily age for a few more years to gain depth and complexity. Best enjoyed between 2025 and 2033.
