Domaine Gardiés - Les Vignes de Mon Père 2020
A short-lived Domaine cuvée, Les Vignes de Mon Père features a different grape variety and terroir each vintage. In 2020, Roussanne is featured. The wine has a golden color with gray highlights. The nose is intense and complex, with mineral and salty notes. The wine opens with aromas of grilled dried fruit and dried flowers. The finish is lively and fresh, with a long aftertaste.

3*Star rating (High-quality production, a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
Jean Gardiès took over the family estate in 1990, focusing from the outset on the reds, which quickly became benchmarks for the region. Since then, he has regularly delivered a fine interpretation of his Vingrau terroir, cultivating a 35-hectare vineyard with a highly fragmented plot structure that is reflected in the philosophy of the cuvées. For the past eight years, the emphasis has been on vinification as close to the fruit as possible, with less extraction and more subtlety. Whether you're looking for dry wines or vins doux naturels, you'll easily find what you're looking for here, provided you stretch your purse a little.

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the domain :
Jean Gardiés now works four-handed with his son Victor. Jean Gardiés took over the family domaine in 1990, maintaining a classic style unanimously respected by his peers. He favors the production of red wines in the Côtes du Roussillon appellation, sharply reducing the production of sweet wines, which now represent only 4 hectares of the vineyard. Spread over different soil types, the reds are among the best in the region, with good volume on the palate and highly precise flavors. Progress has also been made with the whites, which are now aged in 600-liter demi-muids to preserve their mineral character. Exemplary regularity, constant care in both vineyard and cellar, and the finesse now displayed by all the wines, guarantee the domaine a choice place among the region's small elite.
