Domaine Grier - Grenache Carignan 2015
3*Étoile
Hachette
This Grenache (70%) and Carignan rosé made a strong impression. Attractive in its gray-pink hue, it reveals a complex, elegant, and powerful nose of pear, mirabelle plum, apple, peach... This complexity is prolonged by a confident and balanced palate: lots of volume, soft and tender flesh, and remarkable freshness reminiscent of the high-altitude terroirs that gave birth to this wine with its strong personality. It was unanimously voted a favorite." (Le Guide Hachette des Rosés 2016-2017)

About the estate:
The Grier family, owners of a vineyard in South Africa renowned for its sparkling wines, established this 25-hectare estate in the Fenouillèdes region in 2006. They entrusted its management to Raphël Graugnard, who brings all his experience to bear in producing wines that symbolize the successful union of the Old and New Worlds.

Southern power tempered by superb freshness, a great rosé for aperitifs but also for a good meal with southern flavors. I love it!

A decent wine, which plays on finesse, almost too much for my palate. 2* for value for money.

A questionable Q/P ratio, just like the GH's Favorite 3-star" Favorite . No complex nose! Little volume, a simple rosé at a reasonable price. Did I open a bad bottle?
