"Depth and bright reflections for this dense, brilliant garnet, bursting with youth. Intense, straightforward and elegant, the fruit immediately asserts itself, between black cherry and slightly peppery blackcurrant. A superb attack, with fleshy fruit and licorice, opens onto a mid-palate offering great freshness and amplitude, supported by silky tannins. A harmonious, expressive whole". (Guide Hachette 2025)

Wine rated (2025 guide) 93/100
Domaine rated (guide 2023) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
As for the red, it offers deep fruit and a smooth, creamy mouthfeel.
About the domain :
Domaine des Soulanes was created in 2002 by Cathy and Daniel Laffite, in the Maury area. The couple had previously worked these same terroirs for over ten years, alongside the previous owner, before acquiring part of the property. The vineyards lie at the foot of the rocky peaks dominated by Château de Queribus. The estate's wines express themselves in a fleshy yet fair, energetic and intense style.

At first sight, a Maury that's all fruit and sweetness, without lacking amplitude and depth despite its youthful nature. Then, and more particularly, a harmonious, sensual palate thanks to well-balanced sweetness and very round, rich tannins that bring out a wide range of savory notes of burlat, strawberry and prune. Long, warm finish with fine cocoa notes in retro-olfaction. Before a Yule log, this Maury was matched with a dark chocolate moelleux, served warm. Score = 4.1.
