Domaine Albert de Conti - Bergerac Galapia 2024

Guillaume and Paul, Francis’s sons, in partnership with winemaker Yann Lecoindre, manage the 30 hectares in Saint Julien d’Eymet under the Albert de Conti label (formerly Tour des Gendres’s flagship cuvée). A new winery for vinification and aging is set to be built in Saint Julien—an opportunity to breathe new life into the village’s wine industry. The trio, led by the dynamic Guillaume, is determined to innovate—both in terms of labels and the style of their wines—by planting Savoyard grape varieties and others, just like their cousins. Rancis de Conti was a cooperative member and supplied his wines before entering into a lease agreement with his brother Luc de Conti at Château La Tour des Gendres. In 2021, his son Guillaume and his brother Paul, along with Yann Lecoindre, the cellar master at La Tour des Gendres, took over this 30-hectare leasehold to produce their own wines under the Albert de Conti label. The Conti-ne Périgourdine, Cuvée des Conti, La Vigne d’Albert, Chez Paul, and the naturally sparkling wine produced from the estate’s vineyards have been incorporated into the new structure, which is therefore included in our guide on the same level as the former estate.
