Complex and expressive on the nose, Sang du Sanglier is bursting with black fruit, with notes of licorice and black pepper. Powerful on the palate, it offers good balance, with firm yet supple tannins. Sang du Sanglier is anything but wild! Few wines offer such exceptional value for money.

About the estate:
Already the owner of an organic farm in Scotland, Julian Taylor purchased this estate in 2010, which is dominated by a 15th-century château featuring typical Périgord architecture. He reduced the estate’s size from 17 to just under 13 hectares, retaining only the best plots. In March 2019, he sold the property to American businessman Frank Campbell and his wife Riki.

Review by Mr. Gilles D. Published on June 1, 2025
Indulgence and finesse in a powerful, full-bodied style. Blending Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon through skillful aging, Sang du Sanglier delivers a fleshy, vibrant juice to the palate, full of energy, blending dark flavors of plum, cherry, and blackberry softened by subtle toasted and dark chocolate notes that weave into a structure of surprising freshness with tight, consistent tannins that are polished and velvety. The dynamism and depth it exudes extend into a lingering finish marked by the intensity of ripe fruit. A cuvée offering immediate pleasure but also suitable for aging. Served slightly chilled, this Bergerac has what it takes to elevate an entire meal, from a Landes-style salad to grilled duck breast with a red fruit sauce. Rating = 4.2.
