A truly beautiful rosé from a lesser-known but exceptionally high-quality appellation. The nose is delicate and pleasantly reveals notes of red fruit; the attack on the palate is crisp, with character and a lively quality provided this year by lovely acidity. The fruit notes then fill the mouth, leading to a lovely, very pleasant finish. One of the best rosés from the southwest!

About the estate:

The cooperative, which controls the bulk of the Buzet appellation—approximately 1,950 hectares to date, planted with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon, Sémillon, and others—had built a solid reputation in the 1990s. With a few more challenging vintages, quality had dipped, before returning to a high standard once again. This winery’s range is worth noting; the wines are monitored at the plot level and assert specific identities, without resorting to showmanship.
