Marmand Coast
The Côtes du Marmandais appellation, located between Agen and Bordeaux and bordered to the south by the Landes forest, forms a transitional zone between the Entre-Deux-Mers to the west and the Agenais hillsides to the east. The Côtes du Marmandais covers an area of 1,320 hectares across 27 municipalities in Lot-et-Garonne.

Côtes du Marmandais was recognized as an AOC in 1990. The appellation produces all three types of wine: red (85% of production), white, and rosé. On the right bank, the soils are limestone and clay-limestone, with Merlot, Abouriou, and Malbec as the dominant grape varieties. On the left bank, the soils rest on permeable gravel, well-suited to grape varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Abouriou, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc. Abouriou is a red grape variety native to the region.
