Clos Lapeyre
Clos Lapeyre, located in the heart of the Jurançon appellation, was purchased in 1920 by Jean Larrieu. His son Marcel continued to work tirelessly to cultivate the Clos Lapeyre vineyards and expanded the family’s cattle ranching and strawberry farming operations.
Now managed by Jean-Bernard Larrieu, the Clos Lapeyre vineyard spans 17 hectares and is situated on the slopes of the Jurançon AOC, occupying the upper plateau with varied exposures ranging from due south—facing the Pic du Midi d’Ossau—to southeast or southwest. Cultivated using organic farming methods, Clos Lapeyre gives pride of place to the region’s native grape varieties: Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng, which produce wines of character that rank among the elite of the Jurançon AOC.
