“The estate’s very old vines form the foundation of a harmonious, rich texture that reveals dark fruit notes with a hint of soy. The tight, noble oak-driven attack gives way to a more open finish.” (Le Guide RVF 2024). This intense and generous Prestige has real potential!

Wine rated (2024 guide) 90/100

Rated Estate (2023 Guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the wine:

The estate’s very old vines give rise to a wine of harmonious balance and rich texture, revealing notes of dark fruit with a hint of soy. The initial tightness, marked by noble oak, gives way to a more open finish.

About the estate:

Château Viella is one of the appellation’s leading estates, both for its wines and for wine tourism. Its 25 contiguous hectares, situated on south-facing slopes and hillsides, produce concentrated wines of rare velvety smoothness. Offering excellent value for money, Viella’s wines display consistent quality. Charming without being flashy, they are approachable even in their early years thanks to the richness of their very ripe, well-balanced fruit.
