Grande Maison - Monbazillac Cuvée du Château 2022 (liquoreux)

"A delicious liquoreux, fresh without heaviness".

"Remarkable, the 2021 of this vintage just missed out on the Favorite. Its successor wins it, as did the 2018. Sémillon (80%) and Sauvignon, no Muscadelle this year, a rare and capricious grape variety. Fermented and aged in new barrels, this deep yellow Monbazillac only reveals its ageing through a few hints of vanilla, which sprinkle overripe, candied fruit, where lemon and tangerine add a tonic edge. Round and candied, in unison with the nose, the richness and concentration on the palate will see this liquoreux through the decade". (Le Guide Hachette 2025)

About the wine:

Remarkable, the 2021 of this vintage narrowly missed out on the Favorite. Its successor, like the 2018, was awarded it. Round and candied, in unison with the nose, the richness and concentration on the palate will see this sweet wine through the decade.
