"This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc left an indelible impression on our taste buds at the last Wine Paris event, a marvel of power and balance."
This classic-style Cabernet Sauvignon is enhanced with 12% Cabernet Franc, resulting in a blend of intensity for those who are not afraid of tannins. Complex yet subtle and embryonic, this wine releases fresh aromas of blackcurrant and raspberry purée, with resinous notes of bay leaf and vetiver root, bitter cocoa and Cuban tobacco, pencil shavings, and charcoal. Immensely structured, the tannins close out the finish at this early stage. It is certainly built for the long term. [...] 2025-2045" (Decanter 2024)

About wine:
This classic-style Cabernet Sauvignon is enhanced with 12% Cabernet Franc, resulting in a blend of intensity for those who are not afraid of tannins. Complex yet subtle and embryonic, this wine releases fresh aromas of blackcurrant and raspberry purée, with resinous notes of bay leaf and vetiver root, bitter cocoa and Cuban tobacco, pencil shavings, and charcoal. Immensely structured, the tannins seal the finish at this early stage. It is certainly built for the long term. The wine is made from spontaneous fermentation and was aged for 22 months in 95% new oak barrels, lightly toasted and seasoned for a long time. 2025-2045

About wine:
Deep crimson. Vibrant, deep aroma of blackcurrant and blackcurrant buds, the latter bringing a delicate leafy freshness. Rich, powerful, and distinctly woody on the palate, but the depth of the fruit can carry it. Firm, soft tannic texture, really soft for such a young wine. Excellent purity of fruit, even if chocolatey oak notes are present on the finish. Surprisingly accessible today (although it will be better with another year or two in the bottle), this wine should have a long life ahead of it. 2024-2036

About wine:
Lovely spicy aroma of thyme, licorice, and cloves for dark fruits. Full-bodied, deep, and polished, with robust tannins. Spicy and muscular. Cabernet Sauvignon with 14% Cabernet Franc. Best enjoyed from 2024 onwards.

About wine:
Boekenhoutskloof's Franschhoek Cabernet Sauvignon is harvested two weeks later than its Stellenbosch counterpart and is a fresher, more refined wine. Benefiting from the addition of 12% Cabernet Franc from the vineyards around the winery, it offers aromas of graphite, violet, and eucalyptus, grainy, caressing tannins on the palate, and flavors of red berries and blackcurrant leaves.
