Boekenhoutskloof
It was in 1776, in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley in southern South Africa, that Boekenhoutskloof Estate took root and established itself as one of the region’s oldest wine estates. For more than 200 years, the estate has been run by the same family and bears the name “Boekenhout Ravine,” referring to the Boekenhout, a native Cape beech tree.

In 1993, a new era marked the beginning of a major transformation for Boekenhoutskloof, including a complete renovation of the estate and a program to plant prestigious grape varieties such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Sémillon, and Viognier.

Under the leadership of Marc Kent since 1996, the Boekenhoutskloof estate has flourished and is now recognized as one of South Africa’s finest wine estates, working closely with Gottfried Mocke, a South African winemaker with extensive international experience. Their meticulous and environmentally conscious work now yields wines that express the purest and most representative characteristics of their terroir: simply sublime.
