“This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc left an indelible impression on our taste buds at the last Wine Paris—a marvel of power and balance.”

"This classic-style Cabernet Sauvignon is enhanced with 12% Cabernet Franc, resulting in a blend of intensity for those who aren't afraid of tannins. Complex yet subtle and still in its infancy, this wine releases fresh aromas of blackcurrant and crushed raspberry, with resinous notes of bay leaf and vetiver root, bitter cocoa and Cuban tobacco, pencil shavings, and charcoal. Immensely structured, the tannins close off the finish at this early stage. It is certainly built for the long term. [...] 2025–2045” (Decanter 2024)

About the wine:

This classic-style Cabernet Sauvignon is blended with 12% Cabernet Franc, creating a bold blend for those who aren't afraid of tannins. Complex yet subtle and still developing, this wine releases fresh aromas of blackcurrant and crushed raspberry, with resinous notes of bay leaf and vetiver root, bitter cocoa and Cuban tobacco, pencil shavings, and charcoal. Immensely structured, the tannins close out the finish at this early stage. It is certainly built for the long haul. The wine underwent spontaneous fermentation and was aged for 22 months in 95% new oak barrels, lightly toasted and well-seasoned. 2025–2045

About the wine:

Deep crimson. A vibrant, deep aroma of blackcurrant and blackcurrant buds, the latter adding a delicate, leafy freshness. Rich, powerful, and distinctly oaky on the palate, but the depth of the fruit carries it well. Firm yet smooth tannic texture, remarkably smooth for such a young wine. Excellent fruit purity, though chocolatey oak notes are present on the finish. Surprisingly approachable now (though it will be better with another year or two in bottle), this wine should have a long life ahead of it. 2024–2036

About the wine:

A lovely spicy aroma of thyme, licorice, and cloves, with notes of dark fruit. Full-bodied, deep, and refined, with robust tannins. Spicy and robust. Cabernet Sauvignon blended with 14% Cabernet Franc. Best enjoyed starting in 2024.

About the wine:

Boekenhoutskloof's Franschhoek Cabernet Sauvignon is harvested two weeks later than its Stellenbosch counterpart and is a fresher, more refined wine. Enriched with 12% Cabernet Franc from the vineyards surrounding the winery, it features aromas of graphite, violet, and eucalyptus, with grainy yet velvety tannins on the palate and flavors of red berries and blackcurrant leaves.
