Dr Loosen - Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Trocken 2017

"The 2017 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling GG Alte Reben is bright, clear, refined, and relaxed, with a subtly concentrated nose displaying aromas of perfectly ripe stone fruit intertwined with delicate notes of slate. On the palate, it is a concentrated, lush, dynamic, crystalline, highly refined, and complex Sonnenuhr with finely racy acidity, plenty of energy, grip, and mineral tension.” (Wine Advocate 2020)

About the wine:

Hailing from the renowned Laychen vineyard, the 2017 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling GG Alte Reben is bright, clear, refined, and relaxed, with a subtly concentrated nose displaying aromas of perfectly ripe stone fruit intertwined with delicate notes of slate. On the palate, it is a concentrated, lush, dynamic, crystalline, highly refined, and complex Sonnenuhr with finely racy acidity, plenty of energy, grip, and mineral tension. It is a rich, concentrated, powerful yet always refined, dynamic, and elegant Sonnenuhr that will improve with years in the bottle. Tasted in March and April 2019. I tasted the wine from the same bottle 11 days later, and it had opened up considerably.
