“The 2013 Bernkasteler Lay Riesling Kabinett has a pale lemon-yellow color and exudes crisp aromas of fresh grapes, yellow melon, and hints of exotic fruit. The wine is very aromatic and rich. It has a lovely briny finish. ” (Wine Advocate 2015 – Robert Parker). Bernkasteler Lay is a vineyard classified as a VDP Grosse Lage—the German equivalent of a Grand Cru. As for the “Kabinett” designation, it refers to the lightest and most delicate style of German Riesling. A wonderful discovery!

About the wine:

A hint of caramel adds sweetness to the aromas of yellow melon and mandarin in this lively wine. Although classified as semi-dry, it features high acidity and offers a gentle touch of stone fruit to brighten the long finish.

A disappointing wine. Very fizzy, with a hint of sweetness and very ordinary aromas.
