"The Bernkasteler Lay Riesling Kabinett 2013 has a pale lemon-yellow color and exudes frank aromas of fresh grapes, yellow melon, and hints of exotic fruits. The wine is very aromatic and delicious. Beautiful salinity on the finish. " (Wine Advocate 2015 - Robert Parker). Bernkasteler Lay is a terroir classified as VDP Grosse Lage - the equivalent of a Grand Cru in Germany. As for the "Kabinett" designation, this is the lightest and most delicate style for a German Riesling. A wonderful discovery!

About wine:

A hint of caramel adds sweetness to the yellow melon and mandarin aromas of this tense wine. Semi-dry in style, it nevertheless has high acidity and embraces a sweet kiss of stone fruit to brighten the long finish.

Disappointing wine. Very gassy and sweet with very ordinary aromas.
