"Beautiful texture!"
Sophie delights us once again with this new vintage of Pinot Gris, which is as fresh, balanced, and long-finishing as ever—making it the very epitome of a Pinot Gris accessible to a wide audience, at a very reasonable price. The result is a concentration of white flowers, pear, and subtle sweet spices, with hints of fennel and brioche. A real treat!

About the estate:
Alongside a wine-trading venture in South Africa, Julien Schaal founded his Alsatian business in 2011—a highly original endeavor, as it is exclusively a wine-trading business based on purchasing grapes from grand cru vineyards. Currently, nine grands crus are on the menu, representing just about every type of soil in the region, and the selection consists solely of Riesling—with the exception of a Gewürztraminer from the Osterberg and a blend from the Altenberg in Bergheim. In a blind tasting, his 2017 vintages blew us away. Hats off!
