Grown on Tertiary marl, this Gewurztraminer stands out for its lovely structure and well-defined, citrus-driven acidity. Yet the grape retains its rich, luscious character. Delightful notes of passion fruit, candied lemon, and ginger are clearly discernible on the nose. A beautiful Gewurztraminer! Sealed with a screw cap.

Winery rated 1 star (A high-quality, recommended wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

Biodynamic farming always takes a few years to show results, both in terms of root development and soil health, and Michel Chapoutier knows this well, having purchased this estate in 2009 with a few friends who are connoisseurs of fine wines. Located in northern Alsace, on a vein of blue schist, the estate is gradually finding its footing. The single-vineyard Rieslings (Burg, Buehl, and Fels) are beginning to reveal the subtle nuances of their soil.

Review by Mr. ALAIN S. Published on 12/16/2015

I was very disappointed when I received the order—the bottles have screw caps. It doesn't seem like this was mentioned at the time of purchase. It doesn't look very high-quality.
