The Riesling Via Saint-Jacques opens with subtly spiced notes of citrus and pineapple on the nose. Characterized on the palate by a crisp acidity, it displays the hallmarks of the schist terroir: a freshness and minerality that linger through to the finish.

Winery rated 1 star (A high-quality, recommended wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

Biodynamic farming always takes a few years to show results, both in terms of root development and soil health, and Michel Chapoutier knows this well, having purchased this estate in 2009 with a few friends who are connoisseurs of fine wines. Located in northern Alsace, on a vein of blue schist, the estate is gradually finding its footing. The single-vineyard Rieslings (Burg, Buehl, and Fels) are beginning to reveal the subtle nuances of their soil.
